The history of my hometown - Hamilton has been documented and written about many times and in recent memory, the town has gone through so many changes; I fear that it is starting to lose its character and individuality.
We are losing all of our grand Victorian tenements, buildings and old houses. Over the past 50+ years, there has been so much change that even the expat Hamiltonian's who return home for a visit, don't recognise the place that they once called home!
I can remember a time growing up in the "Jungle" in Burnbank where everyone knew each other and looked out for one another, so before the memories start to fade away, I would like to document and preserve the real life stories from you - the people of Hamilton.
We have been a great community for hundreds of years and we share a rich history, I would like to tell the stories of Hamilton that the historians have not documented, I would like to tell everyone about your family's stories and your memories of Hamilton.
If you would like to share your family's stories and photos and have them documented, then please feel free to send them to us.
Come from Hamilton?
Share your memories here!!
